The Las Vegas Ice Center goes ‘green’ in a really big way. There are now 976 solar panels, installed by Sol-Up, on top of the Ice Center’s roof. The panels will generate 900,000 kWh per year and save the company more than $2 million in energy costs over the next 25 years.

The Independence community is Nevada’s largest home development focused on helping renters become first-time homebuyers. Independence, located in East Las Vegas, offers townhomes that include all appliances and solar panels and start in the $200s.

Recently, the community’s first park was officially dedicated. The 6-acre park includes a large pool, with another on the way. There are picnic tables and BBQ areas, picnic pavilions, dogs parks and a covered playground for kids.

Sol-Up, Nevada’s premier solar and renewable energy company, along with the Nevada Conservation League discussed the tax credits, rebates and other incentives available through the Inflation Reduction Act. During the segment on ARC Las Vegas, the public learned about the incentive calculator which helps the public discover renewable energy incentives in one central location, and the protections provided to consumers through SB293.
