The Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower is growing its partnership with the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts (LVA), the magnet public arts school within the Clark County School District.
On September 24, 2013 David Perrico – Pop Evolution will appear in concert on the LVA campus performing for about 800 music students enrolled at LVA. Throughout the hour long performance, Perrico will also include instruction on song arranging and music composition. Perrico, who has received national awards for his original jazz and symphony orchestra compositions, currently serves as music director/trumpeter for Stratosphere’s PIN UP™ and is adjunct faculty member for UNLV’s jazz studies program. Perrico and band members will work with LVA students in smaller classes and workshops throughout the year.
David Perrico – Pop Evolution performs at the Stratosphere the first and third Tuesday each month in the Stratosphere Theater. Half of the door proceeds are donated by the Stratosphere to LVA.
The Stratosphere’s partnership with LVA began last year when Stratosphere headliner Frankie Moreno, and his song writing brothers Tony and Ricky, held a series of workshops with LVA students. Many students got the opportunity to perform during Frankie Moreno’s shows in the Stratosphere Theater during the summer. Moreno will also continue to work with LVA students.
Additionally, cast and crew from the Stratosphere’s PIN UP™ starring Claire Sinclair, plan to work with students in the coming year in the areas of dance, show production, costuming, and set design.
