The American Lung Association in Nevada estimates that 2,100 Nevadans will be diagnosed with lung cancer this year. The LUNG FORCE Walk is part of a national movement to defeat lung cancer by increasing awareness of the disease and working to increase funding for research.
Anyone with lungs can get lung cancer, including those who have never smoked. Thanks to the American Lung Association, the National Institutes of Health have increased funding for lung cancer research by 130 percent.
