When a family has a child diagnosed with cancer, the world is already challenging enough. Frequent medical appointments, blood tests, chemotherapies, as well as the emotional impact on the child will affect the entire family.
Now imagine how difficult those challenges become if you’re the parent of a child with cancer and you’ve lost your job and quite possibly your health insurance. Suddenly, many decisions about finances become challenging and for some, near impossible.
That’s why Magician Criss Angel stepped forward. Angel’s own son, Johnny Crisstopher, receives treatment at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation and has spoken publicly about the caring treatment they receive at the facility. But he also understands how many other families being treated at the clinic have far different economic circumstances than his own.
With the help of Sysco Foods Las Vegas, The CORE Group and many others, Angel donated food to about 100 Cure 4 the Kids Foundation patient families. Each family will receive a six to eight week supply of food which will is received in two distributions. Angel also worked with Caesars Entertainment and BASE Entertainment in donating 1,000 tickets to Criss Angel’s MINDFREAK show which will resume performances at a Caesars property in the future.
In addition to the food and tickets, Angel also is donating a special train set -measuring 8 feet by 4 feet – which will find a permanent home in the clinic. It is being provided by Angel and is made by Woodland Scenics, the world’s leading designer in model scenery. Children and adults will have the chance to control the train before or after their medical appointments.
