One Laughlin man followed the yellow brick road to Aquarius Casino Resort where he won close to a million dollars on August 25, 2014 playing a WMS Wizard of Oz wide area progressive penny slot machine.
Charles Watters, of Laughlin, Nevada, was fifteen dollars into the hundred dollars he had inserted into the Wizard of Oz penny slot machine when the big jackpot hit. At first, Watters thought he had won $9,000. Then he realized there were a couple more digits and commas involved.
“We are thrilled to present Charles a check for $953,220.95 following his big win at Aquarius Casino Resort,” said Aquarius Casino Resort General Manager Sean Hammond. “We love that he turned pennies into just under a million dollars. Between our games, our hosts and the experience we provide to our players, there is no place like Aquarius.”
Watters went off to see the Wizard on the perfect day. August 25, the same day that Watters hit the jackpot, was the 75th anniversary of when the movie, “The Wizard of Oz,” was released in 1939!
Shortly after the large six-figure win, Steve Fields, Aquarius Casino Resort Slot Director, and Debbie Probst, Aquarius Casino Resort Executive Casino Host, presented Watters with a $953,220.95 check signed by Hammond.
