While chemotherapy helps the vast majority of cancer patients survive their diagnosis, it also can pose additional physical challenges to the body. That’s why Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, through its Department of Physical Medicine, is creating a new physiotherapy gym in its clinic to address the needs of patients.
The need for a prescriptive physical therapy program is especially important to teenage patients between the ages of 12 and 17, who can be especially prone to effects on their nervous and musculoskeletal systems.
The physiotherapy gym is expected to be complete by the end of the year, utilizing funds raised through the UFC – Cure 4 The Kids Foundation online 50/50 raffle. Half the proceeds will go to one lucky raffle ticket holder, the remaining half of the jackpot will go to Cure 4 The Kids Foundation for the creation of its physiotherapy gym.
