LAUGHLIN, NV – May 8, 2014 – Team members from Aquarius Casino Resort took steps to help end lung disease by climbing 1,455 steps and 108 floors of the iconic Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas during the sixth annual “Scale the Strat” on Sunday, March 2, 2014.

Ten Aquarius employees, including Aquarius General Manager Sean Hammond, collectively raised an impressive $4,060 to help fund the American Lung Association in Nevada’s mission of preventing lung diseases and promoting lung health.  All ten employees climbed the Stratosphere Tower, the highest building west of the Mississippi.

“This event gets better and better every year. But the best part of Scale the Strat is knowing we are climbing for all those in Southern Nevada who struggle with air everyday,” said Hammond.

This was the fourth consecutive year Aquarius team members participated in this event and each year continue to raise more funds that go directly to helping those in Nevada who struggle to breathe every day.

“We are so grateful and thankful for the support we receive each year from Aquarius Casino Resort and the Laughlin-Bullhead City community,” said Allison Newlon Moser, Executive Director of the American Lung Association in Nevada.  “By working together we can help fund research to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.”

An impressive 577 registered climbers, 18 virtual climbers and 67 teams participated in the sixth annual “Scale the Strat.”  So far the event has raised more than $202,000 for the American Lung Association in Nevada.
